2014年对德国来说是一个特殊的年份——是一个回顾那些影响了德国与世界历史的大事件的年份。

25年前，柏林墙倒塌了。不久之后，1990年10月3日，德国的统一终成现实。在这样的背景下，我对德意志联邦共和国驻广州总领事馆与逵园艺术馆一起主办“另一个国度——达达Zen摄影作品展” 感到十分高兴。达达获得罗伯特博世基金会的奖学金前往汉堡大学进修。他的作品展现出德国的非“典型的德国”风格，这恰恰是达达的作品最引人入胜之处。

我在此对艺术家与逵园艺术馆的努力表示衷心的感谢。此次展览更加唤起两个民族对彼此的好奇心，推动文化交流，并且使我们两国之间的合作和友谊更加紧密。

Vorwort

Das Jahr 2014 ist ein besonderes Jahr für Deutschland - ein Jahr des Rückblicks auf Ereignisse, die die Geschichte Deutschlands und der Welt geprägt haben.

Vor 25 Jahren ist die Berliner Mauer gefallen und der 3. Oktober 1990 hat wenig später die deutsche Einheit Wirklichkeit werden lassen.Vor diesem Hintergrund freut es mich besonders, dass Generalkonsulat der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Kanton zusammen mit der Kui Yuan Galerie Fotos des chinesischen Fotografen Zender in einer Ausstellung mit dem Titel „Die Deutschen“ präsentiert. Zender, der als Stipendiat der Robert- Bosch-Stiftung einen Studienaufenthalt an der Universität Hamburg absolvierte, zeigt in seinen Fotos ein Deutschland, das gar nicht dem Klischee „typisch deutsch“ entspricht – und das genau macht den Reiz seiner Bilder für den Betrachter aus.

Ich danke dem Künstler und der Kui Yuan Galerie ganz herzlich für ihr Engagement. Projekte wie dieses wecken mehr Neugier aufeinander, fördern den kulturellen Austausch und lassen so die Partnerschaft und Freundschaft zwischen unseren beiden Ländern immer enger werden.

Foreword

The year 2014 is of special importance for Germany - we look back on events that shaped the course of both German and world history.

25 years ago the Berlin Wall came down. Less than a year later, German unity became a reality on October 3, 1990. It gives me great pleasure to support Zender’s photo exhibition “The Germans”. Zender won a scholarship of the Robert Bosch foundation and attended the University of Hamburg. The Germans that he portrays in his works are not the “typical Germans”
and that accounts for their particular charm.

I would like to thank the artist and Kui Yuan Gallery for their contribution to this exhibition. Projects like this arouse more curiosity for each other and foster cultural exchange. German-Chinese collaboration in the arts helps to further strengthen the partnership and friendship between our two countries.
